It’s pretty easy to see the manga/anime influences in my art, and I’m not really a huge fan. In this day and age, I think it’s almost impossible to be a young artist and have an art style that doesn’t have something manga/anime inspired about it. It’s so prevalent in our western media now.

And there is nothing wrong with that, building a truly unique style takes influences from all over the map. Looking to how a different culture does things is a great way to widen your world view, and make you more creative.

If your art sucks, don’t blame anime/manga, work on your skill level.

Chapter 11 is up!

I said I would announce the winners of the costume design contest at the end of the chapter - but I wanted to draw the characters in the costumes I liked - and frankly I’m just a little too draw’d out ATM. So I’ll be announcing the winners tomorrow as well as putting up a slightly revised ending to the chapter.

I’ll post again when that happens.
