Hotel Transylvania….is pretty frigging great.
Its gorgeously animated, adorable and funny. No I mean, I can’t remember the last time I saw a CG Movie that captured that classic feeling of exaggeration and fluidity in its characters movements. Squashes and smears and great expressions. The designs are just so much fun to look at (even if Dracula is a bit bland and Sandler looking) I really enjoyed just watching this movie.
The jokes aren’t laugh out loud funny, but they are going to get a smile out of you, also did I mention how adorable this movie is??? Holey fuck.
I know a lot of you are going to stay away because of the cast, but honestly, if you enjoy really snappy, fluid, interesting animation (its directed by Genndy Tartakovsky, for God’s sake) you should really check it out!!
(also, every other animated movie coming out this year looks lame as fuck. Epic? What even is that? And I am SORRY, but the Guardians feels like their trying really hard to make a new Christmas classic in the form of an epic, but just not putting enough thought into it. Frankenweenie could be ok, but I’m frankly sick of Tim Burton and his Tim Burton-ness, I also never liked the original short all that much. I’m not really a dog person…)
This is the kind of thing I would’ve loved when I was a kid.
